Jeeves-that wacky jack of all trades valet-he can whip you up a cup of joe or provide you with hours upon hours of trivia! Whatever you need-he’s right there! This book turned out to be a great find. It is a handy book to take on errands like picking up prescriptions at the drug store, going to the doctor, or getting your car repaired, when it will be necessary to wait an indeterminate amount of time, you want to read, but you might have multiple interruptions, and you don’t want to worry about losing your place and being able to pick the story back up. Organized in a question and answer format on myriad topics, Just Curious, Jeeves is a treasure trove of useless and not so useless information. Since I finished the book, I’ve already cited facts I learned from the book on two or three occasions. Fun and easy to read, the book is written in layman’s terms and organized into categories, and the author often uses tongue in cheek humor. While there is no index to retrieve a specific fact, making this book not the best resource for a serious trivia seeker, it is a quick, fun, and enjoyable way to pick up some new knowledge.
Of course, Jeeves has gone into retirement (cruising around the world, from what I understand) as of February of 2006, so it is unlikely that there will be a sequel or an update to the book, and over time, some of the information will undoubtedly go out of date. But then again, the winner of the first World Series will never change, and Bozo the Clown’s feet are probably through growing by now, so that might not be too much of a problem after all!!!
